Tang Soo Do

Considered as a classical martial art, not a sport, modern day Tang Soo Do is believed to be based from the Korean art Moo Duk Kwan. History, though, shows that it is a style with influences from Soo Bahk Do and Taekkyon. Grand Master Hwang Kee is credited to be the founder and contributor of blending both Korean and Japanese martial arts to form Tang Soo Do.

Meaning
Translation: Tang = "Tang Dynasty", Soo = "hand", Do = "the way"
Literal Translation: “Way of the China hand” – referring to the Tang Dynasty
Origin: Korea
