Chinese martial arts superstar Jet Li (picture) confirmed yesterday he is now a Singaporean, saying he wants his children to receive a “good bilingual education” in a country where they “will not be harassed by journalists and reporters”. He did not say if he had given up his United States and Chinese nationalities but the law in Singapore forbids citizens from holding dual passports.

Mr Li said he was amused by the public interest in his latest migration. In June 2009, there were rumours of the film star moving to Singapore and purchasing a $20-million house.
