Local Star Hoping To Realize Her Dream

Martial arts can be a great activity for kids. It can teach self discipline and promote healthy living. Plus, it can open their eyes and give them the chance to see the world.

Khadijaah Williams is an 11-year-old that attends Northwest Middle School in Jackson. She practices the martial art of Judo and has been doing so since age 5.

Williams has been selected to represent her country in a Junior Judo tournament in Brussels, Belgium. She was ranked No. 1 in the nation in her age group last year.

Dave Melton Sr., her instructor, said this is an opportunity of a lifetime, but Williams needs help to fund the adventure.
